A PRAYER FOR MY JOURNEY

You know how much I love you

You showed me your immense beauty

You have shown me over and over again

and each time I forgot

A forgetting that nearly broke me

Not daring to believe it could be true

A forgiveness that limitless

A light that bright

I felt a pain, a grief and a horror so unimaginable my eyes couldn't see it

A devastation and destruction so absolute that it seemed impossible to return from

Each time you brought me back

your forgiveness was without boundaries

For the plant that showed me

that took me on that journey

that took me to the edge

And would not let me turn back

that had faith in me and didn't give up on me

that broke me open until surrender was all that was left

I feel such immense gratitude

A gratitude that breaks me open again

I make a promise I fear I have made before

But I make it again

To surrender to your will

To trust in your everything

I make another wish

A prayer to you

I long to hear the sounds of nature

I remember the song of the angels in the waters of the womb

I heard your song and the song of angels on my journey

I know that if I listen deeply that song is here all the time

I took a sip of the waters of life

A strange battle that was

I pray for every sip of water to remind me of life

I pray to hear the song of the angels in nature to remind me of life

I pray to have the courage to devote myself to listening and feeling

To being guided back to life by nature

I have seen and felt the last death

The death that lets me live at last

After so many lifetimes

So much pain and grief and suffering

So much forgetting

You showed me how to live again

I pray for the courage to find that wildness in myself to live as I was created to live

Wildly, passionately and simply in service of life and love
